Each spring, students in the Catholic elementary and middle schools of the Archdiocese of Hartford, which includes St. Francis – St. Hedwig School in Naugatuck, take the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS). This year, as in the past, students at St. Francis – St. Hedwig School did extremely well on all subtests.
The following chart indicates the St. Francis – St. Hedwig average grade equivalents in the major tested areas. Students take ITBS in the eighth month (April) of each school year and should achieve minimally a grade equivalent score of the eighth month of whatever grade they are in. For example, third graders should score 3.8 (third grade, eighth month), fourth graders should score about a 4.8 (fourth grade, eight month), and so on.
