St. Francis – St. Hedwig School offers a Catholic, faith based curriculum that adheres to the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Mastery of the core curricular areas of Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and Foreign Language provide the stepping stones for future growth.
In addition to the academics each student experiences the arts, gets plenty of healthy physical activity, participates in computer labs and learns to join forces with others toward a common goal of community service.
St. Francis – St. Hedwig School students in Grades 3 through 7 take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and typically score an overage of two grades higher than their current grade level. In the past five years, five St. Francis – St. Hedwig School graduates have been named valedictorians at their respective high schools.
At St. Francis – St. Hedwig School, students start their educational experience in Pre-Kindergarten where they take part in various activities that promote spiritual, physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth. Upon graduation they will have obtained a strong academic curriculum enhanced with Catholic Teachings that encompass the spirit of teamwork and service to others.
It is because of our strong dynamic curriculum and our dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to our students that they become self-disciplined and life long learners who are prepared for the many challenges of today’s world.
Our middle school science teacher is helping two of the seventh grade students in the dissection of a frog. This is part of the regular science curriculum that is lab based throughout the year.
